Event: Round Table “The Future of Design: from Tailoring to Artificial Intelligence”
Main Speaker: Arch. Simone Riva, CMF Expert and owner of Riva Simone Factory Design Studio
On October 10, the InOut Fair hosted a significant event dedicated to the future of design. The round table, led by architect and CMF Expert Simone Riva, delved into relevant and essential topics such as the integration of tailoring with artificial intelligence and the balance between artificial nature and natural artifice. Among the prominent guests from the industry was Riccardo Marchello, CEO and founder of Sidera, who shared his insights and vision of outdoor design through an innovative and highly emotional approach.
During his speech, Marchello shared the origin of Sidera, a company born from a tradition in metalworking and expertise in sunshade components, which evolved towards a new product concept that redefines the essence of the sunshade itself. “With Sidera, we’ve taken a step to remove form, to eliminate spaces even from sunshades,” Marchello explained. Sidera does not settle for producing a traditional sunshade but instead offers a solution that “lives two lives: by day, it reflects reality like a mirror, and by night, it creates an illusion of infinity, removing physical limits.”
This challenge of “removing form” enabled Sidera to develop a design that not only enhances aesthetics but also captivates those who see it. “The best thing that happened to me this year, when we launched the product, was seeing the emotion in people who saw Sidera,” Marchello shared. His words conveyed the importance of a creative path rooted in tradition yet open to the future through cutting-edge technology.
Moderated by architect Simone Riva, the event highlighted the complexity and possibilities of integrating materials, new technologies, and a tailored approach. Riva, known for his interdisciplinary perspective and experience as a lecturer and CMF Expert, explored the process of “emotional reconstruction” of spaces. The gathering underscored how craftsmanship, supported by advanced technologies, is at the heart of the most innovative projects in contemporary design.
Through Marchello’s words, the success of Sidera was understood to stem from the synergy of “brilliant minds and attentive designers” who created products capable of stirring emotions and redefining outdoor design. The company continues to stand out with its in-depth research into materials like glass and the ILE – Infinity LED Experience technology, which can transform a space into an immersive sensory experience in perfect harmony with the surrounding environment.
We extend our thanks to all participants and organizers of the InOut Fair for hosting this inspiring round table, which allowed for an exchange rich in visions and perspectives on the future of design.
